PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

TOWN OF SHARON

PLANNING BOARD

The Sharon Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 8:15 PM at the Sharon Town Hall, located at 90 South Main Street, in the Selectmen’s Hearing Room, 2nd floor, to review a Town Meeting article that would amend the Zoning Bylaw to define and allow “Adult Entertainment Uses” by special permit in the Light Industrial Zoning District. The purpose of this article is to address the well-documented secondary impacts of Adult Uses, and ensure that these uses are separated from educational, recreational, religious, residential and other uses, in order to reduce the negative impacts such establishments could pose to the Town of Sharon.  The article would amend the current Zoning By-Laws by making the following changes (note: excerpt from article):

Insert new section 2334.m to allow Adult Entertainment Uses by special permit in the Light Industrial District.

Insert new section 4100, Adult Entertainment Uses:

4100.   Adult Entertainment Uses.

4110.   Purpose and Authority.

4120.   Definitions.

4130.  Additional Setbacks.

4140.  Additional Siting Requirements.

4150.  Off-street Parking and Loading.

4160.  Sign Requirements.

4170.  Special Permit Submission and Approval.

4180.  Existing Adult Use Establishments.

Complete copies of the article language can be obtained from the Sharon Town Clerk, Town Library or the Sharon Engineering Department, Peter O’Cain at (781) 784-1525, ext. 2316.

All interested parties should plan to attend.
